Privacy policy.

We collect personal and credit information only to arrange finance for you and to meet our legal obligations. This policy follows the Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles. [Have this reviewed by your licensee or a lawyer before launch.]

What we collect

Your name, contact details, date of birth, identification documents, employment and income details, assets, liabilities, living expenses and credit history. We collect it from you directly, from your employer or accountant with your consent, and from credit reporting bodies.

Why we collect it

To assess whether a loan is suitable for you, to apply for credit on your behalf, to verify your identity as the law requires, to manage our relationship with you and to meet obligations under the National Consumer Credit Protection Act and anti-money-laundering laws.

Who we share it with

Lenders and mortgage insurers you apply to, our licensee Purple Circle Financial Services Pty Ltd, credit reporting bodies, valuers, conveyancers you nominate, and service providers that host our systems. We do not sell your information. Some service providers store data overseas [list countries if applicable]; we take reasonable steps to ensure they protect it.

Credit reporting

We may obtain a credit report from Equifax, Experian or illion when you apply. Each has its own privacy policy explaining how they handle your data. You can ask them not to use your information for direct marketing and to ban access if you think you are a fraud victim.

How we store it

Encrypted systems with access limited to staff who need it. Documents are kept for at least seven years as the law requires, then securely deleted.

Access and correction

Email admin@auzlending.com.au to see what we hold or to correct it. We respond within 30 days. If we refuse a request we will tell you why.

Complaints

Contact us first at admin@auzlending.com.au. If you are not satisfied, contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at www.oaic.gov.au or 1300 363 992, or AFCA for credit-related privacy complaints.
